🌴 What to do if you're NOT going to Coachella

4/9 - 4/15: karaoke night, cakes pop-up at Canyon Coffee, & intro to rock climbing

👋 OH HEY 👋

Mads here! Let’s do a week-in-the-life recap, shall we?

  • 🍕 Finally tried Prima Donna. The space is massive and such a good dinner option in Culver City. They also have a fun bar area to watch sports (if you’re into that sort of thing). Order the prosciutto, bleu cheese, and fig pizza & the tortellini.

  • 🍸 Does everyone remember the old Shangri-La rooftop? I used to go there as a pregame to The Bungalow back in 2017. Now, it’s this chic bar called The Coco Club. There are limited rooftops in Santa Monica, so I’m very excited for all of us this summer. Have dinner in the lobby at Layla beforehand. Incredible Jordanian food with natty wine.

  • 🥑 I love a Bravo Toast in WeHo moment, so I was excited to try out their new location in Silver Lake (in the old Breadblok space). Can’t go wrong with a little avo toast and coffee. Since I was in the neighborhood, I finally stopped by The Ruby Fruit. Everyone was co-working there, which was fun! I need to go back for one of their cute night events.

  • 🤝 Putting together my rankings of the best members-only clubs in LA. This week I visited Little Beach House Malibu & NeueHouse in Venice. I still have to go to The Bird Streets Club, and then I’ll be able to make an official ranking. What’s your fave members-only club in LA?

  • 🍳 Went to a tastemaker brunch at Casalena in the Valley with 818 Tequila & De Soi. Casalena is PERFECT for a bridal / baby shower or graduation dinner. You must get the challah french toast omfg.

  • 🍵 After many years of sharing Tea at Shiloh events in this very newsletter, I finally visited for myself on Saturday night! The space feels like you’re lounging in someone’s living room. It’s so cozy, there’s unlimited tea, and people are either chatting, reading, or painting. Such a good late-night option for those who don’t want to drink.

  • Burgette, Santa Monica 🍔 The sister restaurant to one of my favorite spots in Santa Monica, Bar Monette, is opening this week! I just know this burger is gonna slap…

  • Butchr Bar, Echo Park 🍷 This charcuterie & natural wine bar is soft opening this week. Looks CHIC.

  • Sendero, DTLA 🍴 If you’re looking for a dinner spot before going to a show or Lakers game at Crypto, Sendero is your answer. It’s a Latin American restaurant with the most incredible views of DTLA. Must orders include: the queso gobernador, duck confit arepas, empanadas trio, and barbacoa.

  • KUSHIBA, Echo Park 🍢 A taste of Osaka in Echo Park! KUSHIBA is serving up seasonal kushikatsu (crispy foods on sticks) and Japanese dishes.

  • The Cosmic Cafe, Mt. Wilson 🥪 The Cosmic Cafe is Mount Wilson Observatory’s cafe, and they’re reopening for the season this Saturday! Grab a sandwich and enjoy the incredible views.
