👋 OH HEY 👋

Mads here! Last week, I went on a solo trip to one of my favorite fall getaways from LA: The Eleven Cabins in Idyllwild. It’s this micro-resort with (you guessed it) eleven cabins, a pickleball court, pool, cold plunge, and sauna. It’s the coziest home base with a short walk into town.

OH, and we’re giving away a 2-night stay on this Instagram post so you too can indulge in an end-of-year getaway. Winner will be announced on Monday 11/25!

While you’re there, here are some places I recommend:

• The Eleven Cabins 🪵 THE place to stay when in Idyllwild. Great for a solo trip or rallying up a group to take over the whole property. Cozy up by the fire pits, swim in their heated pool, or treat yourself to a sauna session.

• FERRO 🍝 Great neighborhood Italian spot. All the customers and staff know each other; the small town vibes are unparalleled.

• Alpaca Coffee / Mile High Cafe ☕️ Joint coffee shop and brunch spot. Pick up a cup and then sit by the fire while you eat an omelette.

• El Sereno Mercantile 🛍️ I love a gift shop, and El Sereno Mercantile is one of the more modern ones you’ll find in town. It reminds me of Los Alamos a bit.

• Wildland 🕯️ Another gift shop where you’ll find home decor, local candles, and inspiring journals.

• Speakeasy Bookmarket 📚 Tiny bookstore that wasn’t open while I was there, but I peaked inside, and it was so charming!

• The Wine Finch 🍷 Natural wine bar that wasn’t open while I was there. I will definitely be going back to try it though!

• Lake Hemet 🚣 Highlight of the trip by FAR. I took a mini walk around the lake until I found a bench to sit at and stare aimlessly into the water. Gorgeous this time of year.

• Cafe Aroma 🍽️ This cozy restaurant feels like it’s straight from the set of The Holiday. It’s all decked out for Christmas, and the pastas were super tasty.

• West Hollywood, All Week 🥾 The Feel House by Ugg is popping up on Melrose until 11/24! It’s a multi-sensory community space where you can order holiday drinks, lounge around, shop the latest collection, and take photo booths.

• West Hollywood, All Week ☕️ In honor of Rhode’s new limited edition peptide lip tint, cinnamon roll, they’ve teamed up with Community Goods to create a cinamilk latte. I need to get my hands on one of them.

• Century City, All Week 🎿 The winter chalets are back at the Fairmont Century Plaza! I went last week, and it was sooo cozy and festive, especially with several glasses of glögg. They basically created an apres ski dining experience in the middle of the city. Book your table here!

• Culver City, Wednesday 11/20 😆 A comedy show in a bookstore? Sign me up.

• DTLA, Wednesday 11/20 👢 Love this: in an effort to give back to the community while incentivizing conscious upcycling, The Traveling Boot series is on a mission to collect your gently used/unused footwear for local charities around the city. In exchange, Timbs will be giving away pairs of their 'Beef and Broccoli' Field Boots to the first 200 participants.
