Mads here! It was National Oyster Day yesterday, which is basically every day when it’s summer in LA. So let’s go through where to slurp oysters in the city:

• Found Oyster, East Hollywood 🦪 I mean, there is no “best oysters in LA” list without Found. Get the baywatch platter.

• Holbox, South Central 🦪 Truly the best seafood in the city. Obviously get some oysters, but you’ll mainly be going there for the ceviche and tostadas.

• Broad St Oyster Co, Malibu 🦪 Their oysters come in a to-go container on ice. Order some and slurp ‘em down across the street on the beach.

• Venice, Tuesday 8/6 🍴 Well, this is cute: girl dinner at Little Lunch in Venice.

• Koreatown, Tuesday 8/6 🤌 The James Beard Foundation returns to Los Angeles to host Taste America on Tuesday, which is a gathering of chefs from the Los Angeles culinary community. It’ll be a walk-around tasting at The Line Hotel with chefs from Baby Bistro, Holbox, Perilla, Amiga Amore, and more.

• Historic Filipinotown, Wednesday 8/7 🍷 GPA Wines is taking over Woon on Wednesday. They might even bring back the Popcorn Chicken special for the night…

• Echo Park, Thursday 8/8 🍽 Teotl is popping up at Canyon Coffee on Thursday for a mid-summer four course dinner. The menu looks droolworthy.

• DTLA, Thursday 8/8 🕺 This is where you’ll boogie this week: Tropicana Night at The Let’s Go Disco on Thursday!

• Culver City, Thursday 8/8 🛍️ It’s a sidewalk vintage flea at La Sabina in Culver City. Wine! Ceramics! Tacos!

• Santa Monica, Thursday 8/8 🍷 Venice Beach Wine Club is back at a new restaurant in Santa Monica called Edgemar, which doesn’t open for a few weeks. This is gonna be a good one.

• San Gabriel Valley, Thursday 8/8 - Saturday 8/10 🧋 Golden Guide and Yuzu have teamed up for this 3-day event takeover to support small businesses in the SGV’s Asian American community. There will be a boba date, photo booth party, board game social, and more!

• West Hollywood, Friday 8/9 🛼 Brat Girl Summer is alive and WELL. Head to the rooftop at E.P. & L.P. for this brat themed roller rink party.

• Culver City, Friday 8/9 🍷 Hi-Lo will be popping up at Platform every Friday for their new “Friday Night Wine" series. There will be rotating food vendors and music!

• Venice, Sunday 8/11 ✂️ Heal your inner child with this paper cut-out art workshop (with wine, duh). It’s drawing with scissors!

• Studio City, Sunday 8/11 🍴 Another summer supper club for you! Graze It Social Club is a pop up dinner club that focuses on nose to tail dining and seasonal low waste produce. • Belle’s Bagels, Highland Park 🥯 My favorite bagel in LA (ya, you read that right) just expanded their space in HLP to a full sit-down deli. I’m giddy to visit!

• The Malibu Market, Malibu 🍷 A new brick oven pizza and wine club in Malibu at Calamigos Ranch. Perfect end of summer outing!

• Pizza Girl, Venice 🍕 The heiress to D’Amores Pizza has opened her own pizza shop in Venice. I loved her episode on Hot Pastrami. Grand opening is on Saturday 8/10!

• Asteroid Vinyl Cafe, Inglewood 🎧 A new record store & cafe in Inglewood. They put on fun events like zine workshops and sound baths.

• Good Friend Coffee, Virgil Village ☕️ Cute coffee shop in Virgil Village that should be opening this week or next. Follow on IG for updates!

• Byron Blatty Wines, Highland Park 🍷 New tasting room in HLP open on Thursdays & Fridays. Looks chic!

• Butchr Bar, Echo Park 🥩 This spot has been on my radar for a while now, and it has finally (soft) opened! You can expect dry aged meats, charcuterie, & natural wines.

• Community Goods, Pacific Design Center 🍵 Community Goods has opened a new location in the PDC. Now everyone at Dear Media doesn’t have to make a stop on their way to podcast.
