πPLACES TO BEπ
Interstellar
Santa Monica
It feels like there aren't that many great spots around the Santa Monica Pier...except for this one.
Interstellar is run by husband-and-wife duo Chef Angie and Daniel Kim. They fuse Korean and American ingredients together with Japanese and Italian flavors to create dishes like shakshuka, chicken katsu sando, and honey butter toast on Ginza Nishikawa milk bread ( a MUST order) π₯ͺ
Great for a post-beach brunch.
Holy Basil
DTLA
This is considered one of the best spots to get Thai food in Los Angeles.
And for good reason. Holy Basil is your new neighborhood bangkok street food window. I ordered the pad see ew with tofu, and pretty much devoured it in under 5 minutes. I wish I lived near downtown so I could order takeout from here every week π²
Also, they'll be opening up another location in Atwater Village soon!
Bar Cou Cou
Santa Monica
My theory that Main Street is the coolest area in LA has been further proved by this place.
Bar Cou Cou serves French food with natty wine and an extensive cocktail menu. The vibes are moody and romantic, which makes sense for a French restaurant π·
I ordered a glass of Las Jaras white wine, the fried olives with labne, mussels, and steak frites. The perfect date night spot.
π¬ ONE FINAL THING π¬
See ya around,
Mads
