Mads here! Let’s do a pulse check on my past week in Los Angeles:

• 🍔 I tried out Burgette!! This is Bar Monette’s new sister restaurant that’s right next door. Their main event is the burger, which you need to order with a side of fries and the wild mushrooms. Top it off with a glass of natty orange. Great spot for date night, solo dining at the bar, or a birthday party in their back room.

• 🐟 Omg I finally went to Holbox. There’s a reason this seafood spot is on every list. It felt like I was right back in Mexico City at Contramar. Must orders include: shrimp aguachile, tostada de kanpachi and uni, and the scallop taco.

• 🚗 We had our April Walk Club on Saturday morning with Waymo (yes, the autonomous ride-hailing service). Everyone went home with codes to skip the oh-so-long waitlist to try it out in Santa Monica. We walked, we met new friends, and we drank coffee from Nguyen Coffee Supply. The perfect start to the weekend!

• 🍝 I planned probably the most perfect date night: dinner at Sunday Gravy followed by a comedy show by Don’t Tell Comedy. First of all, Sunday Gravy was A+++. The decor, the music, the food (order the ragu & bucatini al limone). Then, it was my first time at a Don’t Tell Comedy show. They share the location the day of (which is a fun surprise), AND it’s usually BYOB. Super casual and super hilarious.

• 👩‍🌾 Shoutout to the girlies who came up to say hi to me at the Brentwood Farmers Market on Sunday! A lil stroll through that farmers market is better than therapy for me.

• Pasadena, Tuesday 4/23 📖 I’ve been seeing these pop-ups everywhere, and I’m so into it: a silent reading club. Yep, you gather to read in silence together.

• Santa Monica, Tuesday 4/23 🎾 Ola Beach Tennis is back with open play on Tuesday! This time, they’re partnering with Barry’s in advance of the new Barry’s Santa Monica location grand opening. Use code Camber10 for $10 off!

• Culver City, Wednesday 4/24 😆 A comedy show in a bookstore? Yes, please.

• DTLA, Wednesday 4/24 ✏️ It’s Nudes & Caviar on Wednesday, an evening of figure drawing and nourishing bites at FIG & OAK.

• Koreatown, Wednesday 4/24 🇰🇷 Open Market will be hosting a Makgeoilli night to celebrate the new generation of Korean-American culinary producers. Perilla will be there!
