Thanksgiving pie, tchotchke stores, & beach yoga

My favorite week of the year: slower days due to Thanksgiving, Gilmore Girls memes about eating, and sales on top of sales πŸ¦ƒ

I'm in San Diego this week visiting my family, and there are so many new spots I wanna check out: Madi, IZOLA, Mabel's, and Little Thief. It's always fun to re-discover your hometown. If you need more San Diego recs, be sure to follow me on Camber here πŸ—ΊοΈ

πŸ—“οΈ THINGS TO DO πŸ—“οΈ

  • 🍽️ Looking to order in for Thanksgiving dinner? Here's a comprehensive list of where to get takeout this year.

  • πŸ₯” Okay, I'm jealous if you order Thanksgiving sides from Highly Likely or Kismet Rotisserie.

  • πŸ₯§ Are you the one responsible for bringing the pie this year? Order ahead here. Some of my faves: Pie 'n Burger, Quarter Sheets, and Apple Pan.

  • 🧘 Movement Co offers these really cool outdoor classes like beach flows or pilates in the park.

  • πŸŽ„ Capri Club is decked out for the holidays.

  • πŸ›οΈ Wanna start shopping for gifts? Here's my guide of favorite tchotchke stores in the city.

  • ✍️ Many people will be traveling this week, so take advantage of getting that res that's typically hard to secure (looking at you, Mother Wolf, Horses, & Pijja Palace πŸ‘€).

  • β˜• Are you a work-from-coffee-shop person? I listed my favorite ones on the westside here.

πŸ“PLACES TO BEπŸ“

Agnes Restaurant & Cheesery

Pasadena

So, Agnes in Pasadena has been on my list for quite some time now. I finally took a field trip to visit for brunch, and guys 🍳

First of all, any restaurant that has a marketplace selling natural wine and tinned fish has my heart. Secondly, this place is like straight out of a Nancy Meyers movie, it hurts. Oh, and i'm declaring it a top 5 patio in the city.

Great White Melrose

West Hollywood

I have to include the new Great White on Melrose here because it feels so different than the other two locations.

You won't miss it due to its pink exterior, and the moment you walk in, there's this living room vibe with their plush pillows and fireplaces. It's a day-to-night place, so I have a feeling this is going to be a new meeting spot staple for me.

Voodoo Vin

Virgil Village

I can't believe it took me this long to visit this natural wine bar 🍷

Voodoo Vin reminds me of Hugo in Mexico City. It's tiny and intimate, equipped with communal tables and a whole wine wall. I also ordered the chicken liver toast with blueberry lavender compote, and wow.

πŸ’¬ ONE FINAL THING πŸ’¬

I feel this on a visceral level:

See ya around,

Mads
