A MESSAGE FROM “PRIME VIDEO”

Where to fall in love in Los Angeles 💌

The Idea of You is now out on Prime Video! We were so giddy for the release of this movie, that we created this list of 7 places to fall in love in Los Angeles.

The Idea of You is based on the acclaimed, contemporary love story of the same name, and it centers on Solène (Anne Hathaway), a 40-year-old single mom who begins an unexpected romance with 24-year-old Hayes Campbell (Nicholas Galitzine), the lead singer of August Moon, the hottest boy band on the planet.

A lot of the movie and their love story is based in LA with references to some of our favorite restaurants, like All Time 🍷 We hope you enjoy it as much as we did!

👋 OH HEY 👋

Mads here! I had quite the east-ish weekend in LA. Let’s do a recap, shall we?

  • ☕ I featured this new coffee shop in last week’s newsletter and had to check it out for myself: Loop Espresso Club. It’s a Tokyo-inspired cafe in Eagle Rock. They have records all over and movies playing at the bar. Lots of people working there!

  • 🎁 This is the perfect Mother’s Day gift: I visited the Flamingo Estate pop-up in Highland Park, and they have grab-and-go gift box sets for your mom. They’re opening again this week from Wednesday to Sunday, so you still have time!

  • 🍷 You guys know I love a boutique grocery store, and I FINALLY visited Carla’s Fresh Market in Highland Park. They have everything I love: every type of trendy olive oil, tinned fish, and a ton of natty wine.

  • 🌮 I saw Adam Weiss go to Villa’s Tacos’ new location in Grand Central Market, so I went to Villa’s Tacos’ new location in Grand Central Market. Order the queso taco with ranchera asada.

  • 🥪 Fabby’s Sandwicherie has been added to a lot of “best sandwiches in LA” lists, and I finally found myself in DTLA to try it. Their most popular item is the beef bourguignon torta. Best part? They’re open until 12 AM inside The Grayson, so you can order food after a night out.

  • 🍔 Alright, so this might be my new favorite smash burger in the city: For The Win. I know, I know, this isn’t new or groundbreaking, but I saw they opened a location at Grand Central Market while I was there trying Villa’s Tacos, so I went for it. Watch my reaction here.

  • 🍳 You guys are always asking me where to take your parents when they’re in town, and my final answer is Agnes in Pasadena. My parents were visiting this weekend, and it had it all: Nancy Meyers vibes, yummy brunch food, a great patio, and a walkable area around it. Also, shoutout to fellow Camberry, Alyssa May, who came up and said hi to me!!
