👋 OH HEY 👋

Mads here! Hope everyone had an ideal LDW. I did a few fun things:

• 🌳 Went to The Huntington Library & Botanical Gardens FOR. THE. FIRST. TIME. I knew it was gorgeous from photos, but come on. My inner child was healed there. Treat yourself to a visit.

• 🕺 Had myself an Echo Park / Silver Lake GNO! We tried to go to Donna’s, but the wait was 2 hours (yikes), so we went to one of my favorite spots around the corner: The Lonely Oyster. Then, we checked out the oh-so-cool Fluffy McCloud’s, popped into El Cid, and then ended the night at The Friend (the best place to dance in the city IMO).

• 🧘 On the other side of town, I spent Labor Day on the westside! A yoga class at Open (get a free class here!), a cuh-lassic brunch at Great White (shout-out to Cameron who works there and hooked me up with a table during rush hour), and then worked at Little Lunch with my fave Coco Cold Brew.

Okay, now on to the coolest things happening this week.

• East Hollywood, Wednesday 9/6 🕺 There’s this open floor movement session on Wednesday. I’m not sure what that entails, but I’m excited to find out. Sounds like a dance party meets embodiment practice? Dope.

• Santa Monica, Thursday 9/7 ☕ Looking to meet other creatives? Venice Photo Club is having a coffee mixer at Bodega Santa Monica before work on Thursday.

• Venice, Thursday 9/7 🤝 Singles!! LA SOSO CLUB is putting on a Summer Ain't Over Singles Party at The Lincoln on Thursday.

• Glendale, Thursday 9/7 🤣 Wanna laugh? There’s a health class musical comedy show happening on Thursday at Junior High.

• Malibu, Friday 9/8 🍽️ This is my dream: Outstanding In The Field at the Malibu Pier. Can you imagine eating dinner at a table spanning that long stretch of wooden planks?

• Venice, Friday 9/8 🤠 My favorite night is back: Country Night!! This time at The Waterfront, and it’s disco country themed.

• Westwood, Saturday 9/9 🕺 There’s a roller disco happening at this pop-up market in Westwood. You can also expect food, local artisans, and more!

• Studio City, Saturday 9/9 🍔 I’m so into this: Natties & Patties. Yep, that’s a patio party with natural wine and burgers.

• Elysian Park, Saturday 9/9 🧘 Pilates in the Park!! Best way to start the weekend.

• Atwater Village, Saturday 9/9 🎨 Wanna collage and be cute and connect with others?! Well, there’s a collage club on Saturday afternoon at Oeno Vino. Come for the art, stay for the community.

• Echo Park, Saturday 9/9 🎶 Echo Park Rising is back! It’s a free music event that celebrates local talent and businesses of the neighborhood.

• Highland Park, Saturday 9/9 💐 This is too precious: a flower pounding bandana workshop at Lenita Flower Shop.

• Culver City, Saturday 9/9 🍷 Free natty wine tasting at Bespoke Bar on Saturday. Their first evening pop-up in their courtyard!

• West Adams, Sunday 9/10 🎾 Calling all tennis lovers: watch the US Open men’s final with The Courts at Brother Brother. LA BURG will be providing the burgers!

• South LA, Sunday 9/10 ☕ It’s Flow Good Coffee’s 1st birthday! They’re throwing a whole FGC Family Function on Sunday to celebrate.

• Ladera Heights, Sunday 9/10 🤝 Want to learn how to forage while making new friends? Then this Queer & Allies Foraging Workshop is for you.

• Los Feliz, Sunday 9/10 🐟 Little Fish is popping up at McCall’s on Sunday. Treat yourself to a fish sando.

• Mid-City, Sunday 9/10 🖼️ Wait this is cool: there’s a free exhibit at LACMA with Snapchat on Sunday. It will feature 13 augmented reality monuments created by some of today’s most celebrated artists.

• Silver Springs, West Hollywood 🧘 Apparently everyone is going to this pilates studio these days. I’m trying it out this week, so I’ll report back.

• Little Joy, Echo Park 🍸 This cool kids cocktail bar is the sister business to The Lonely Oyster. I checked it out this weekend, and it was indeed cool. And they have a pool table.

• Bread Head, Santa Monica 🥪 This sandwich pop-up inside of JuneShine has been on my list forever. And they’re about to open a brick-and-mortar on Montana!

• Connie & Ted’s, West Hollywood 🦞 Okay I went to Connie & Ted’s for the first time the other night, and wow. They know their seafood sh*t over there. The lobster roll is a must. Oh, and Jeff Goldblum was there, and I fangirled HARD. Apparently he’s a regular, so…

• Petit Trois, Sherman Oaks 🇫🇷 I finally made it to Petit Trois in the Valley this past weekend, and the weird-ass rainy weather was the perfect backdrop to this meal. I got french onion soup and a side of fries.
