A MESSAGE FROM “BUMBLE”

Feel safe & secure in your dating journey 💪

To close out Women’s History Month, we teamed up with our friends at Bumble over the weekend to put on a self-defense class to help women feel confident and empowered in their ability to promote their own safety in their day to day lives.

Bumble, the women-first dating and social networking app, was founded by Whitney Wolfe Herd in 2014. Built on the importance of equitable relationships and how crucial they are to a healthy, happy life, Bumble is the app for people to find connections based on kindness, respect, and equality. The app holds its community members responsible for upholding those values to provide everyone with an experience that is safe, kind, and respectful.

👋 OH HEY 👋

Mads here! Let’s do a lil weekend recap, shall we?

  • 🍷 Finally visited Neighborhood Winery in the Arts District. It’s truly the most perfect natty wine bar. Oh, and they have a full Jewish menu filled with latkes and matzah with borscht butter. I mean…

  • 📺 Um, CAMBER WAS ON THE NEWS! NBC’s California Live invited us on their show on Friday to share the coolest things to do over the weekend. You can rewatch the segment here. I feel like this should be a recurring thing?!

  • 🥪 I had myself a lil day in Santa Ynez on Saturday: wine tasting at La Tarantella, sandwiches at The Lucky Hen Larder, more wine tasting at Dreamcote, and dinner at Bar Le Côte (or as the locals call it, BLC). Full Santa Ynez guide here!

  • 🦪 April 1st was the last day of Loreto’s spring omakase menu, and I had the honor and privilege of tasting it this weekend. Omg the swordfish shawarma, lobster dumpling, and all the wine pairings…chef’s kiss. If you missed it, don’t worry. They’re planning another experience for summer. In the meantime, head over to Loreto for menu hits like the tostada tonnato, tostada bang bang, fig ceviche, & atun picante.

ALSO, we’re giving away 2 GA passes to the Just Like Heaven festival in Pasadena on 5/18!! It’s an indie music festival featuring artists of the 2000s like Phoenix, Passion Pit, Sleigh Bells, Death Cab for Cutie, and more. Details on how to enter in the caption of this Instagram post 🎶 Winner will be announced on Sunday 4/7!

  • Bar Coucou, West Hollywood 🫒 One of my favorite date night spots in Venice just opened a second location in WeHo! I feel like it’s tricky for me to recommend dinner spots in WeHo, so this is good news.

  • LASUNG HOUSE, Koreatown 🥢 Inspired by the 80’s dining culture in Korea, LASUNG HOUSE takes a unique approach to traditional Korean-style comfort food, specializing in jumbo-sized pork cutlets. Soft opening is this week and grand opening is on 4/15!

  • Wax Paper, Chinatown 🥪 PHEW, Wax Paper in Chinatown is back open!! After a brief time closed, they’re back serving out sandwiches named after NPR hosts.

  • All’Antico Vinaio, Koreatown 🥩 Um omg All’Antico Vinaio opened a 2nd location in Koreatown! The Florentine sandwich spot is expanding fast.

  • Vespertine, Culver City 🍽 Vespertine is back? Apparently they’re calling it a rebirth…

  • K-TEAM BBQ, Koreatown 🇰🇷 From the team that brought you Park’s BBQ, comes another KBBQ spot called K-TEAM. Casual with a more pork-centric menu.

  • Sweet Lady Jane, All over 🍰 After the shock of their announcement that they’d be closing up shop, Sweet Lady Jane is back! What a rollercoaster, but thank god I can still get my triple berry cake.

  • Fabby’s Bistro, DTLA 🍽️ Fabby’s Bistro (same folks behind Fabby’s Sandwicherie) is back on Saturdays & Sundays at Mignon Wine Bar! Menu looks droolworthy.

  • FEELINGS at pLAy, Culver City 🛍 For all my parents out there! There’s this new children’s store at Platform that offers workshops, events, and more for kids and grown-ups to exercise curiosity and creativity. They have a grand opening party on Saturday 4/6!
