🍜 A guide to the San Gabriel Valley
2/20 - 2/26: Lou Nashville pop-ups, country night, & a tennis tournament
👋 OH HEY 👋
Mads here! A LOT happened this past week in Camberland, so let’s break it down:
🌶️ We threw a little Galentine’s Day event with Spotify to celebrate the launch of their new Spicy Audiobooks Club. It was at Lolo Wine Bar, and I moderated a discussion with romance author Ana Huang. Thanks Spotify for including us!
💪 I hate working out alone, so when Bumble & adidas approached us about their new “Gym Buddy” badge, I knew we had to bring our community together to beat gymtimidation. We had a little shopping event at adidas, and then walked over to JOHN REED Santa Monica for a workout together.
🍜 I did a self-guided tour of the San Gabriel Valley over the weekend! I got banh mi at Banh Mi My Tho, Chinese food at Chengdu Taste, souffle pancakes at Motto Tea Cafe, dim sum at Bistro 1968, and soft serve from 626 Ice Cream. There are still SO many spots on my list, so let me know where I should go next in the SGV!

ZOZO at Maison Midi, La Brea 🍽️ Cafe Midi next to American Rag used to be my faaavorite brunch spot. It felt like the Figaro Bistrot was plucked from Los Feliz and placed on La Brea. It sadly closed a few years ago, but a new spot has taken its place: ZOZO at Maison Midi. It’s a restaurant amongst the home goods store, and I’m so excited to try it!
Flamingo Bar, DTLA 🦩 This spot is giving bachelorette party in Miami vibes.
The New Bar, West Hollywood 🍸 The New Bar opened their 2nd location in Weho!! And you’re invited to their grand opening weekend.
Smoking Tiger, San Gabriel ☕ 626 Hospitality Group is opening a coffee lab this weekend! If it’s anything like their ice cream store in Arcadia, then you’re in for a treat.
B&T’s Deli, Santa Monica 🥪 For all my vegetarians out there: a plant-based sub shop on Montana!
Softies Burger, DTLA 🍔 A burger pop-up at Smorgasburg every Sunday. They make Oklahoma-style burgers with a spicy aji sauce. They also make cool AF merch.
Malibu Village Books, Malibu 📖 I didn’t realize that the Malibu Country Mart had a bookstore because it’s tucked away behind Wells Fargo. Grab a book and walk across PCH to the beach.
Yang’s Kitchen, Alhambra 🍽️ So bummed there wasn’t time for me to check out Yang’s Kitchen during my afternoon in the SGV. I’ve heard ammmmazing things and will be back to try it soon.
Bonsai Coffee Bar, Sawtelle ☕ New coffee & matcha spot in Sawtelle. Looks good for working!!
LEORA, Beverly Hills 🍽️ All day hidden cafe in the heart of Beverly Hills. I need to try their avocado challah toast…
pi00a, all over 🍕 This Asian-inspired Neapolitan pizza pop-up is deaf & CODA family owned. Catch them on Thursday 2/22 at Carla’s Fresh Market!
