👋 OH HEY 👋

Mads here! We’ve entered the last 2 weeks of the year where no one knows what day or time it is. So apologies that the “things to do” list this week is a bit shorter. Use this time to go to restaurants you’ve had a hard time getting into or drive to Malibu without traffic 🌊

It’s also the last newsletter of 2023! (Don’t worry, I’ll be posting NYE round-ups on Instagram & TikTok, so be sure to follow us there). Because we’re closing out the year, I wanna share some of my favorite places in LA that I visited (new and old):

Oh, and did you hear…OUR APP IS NOW IN THE APP STORE! Can’t wait to follow all of you on Camber 📲 We’ve been slowly releasing it out, so expect exciting updates soon.

If you have any questions or run into issues, email [email protected]. Thanks for your patience here!

Okay, now on to the coolest things to do in LA this week.

The coolest events happening in Los Angeles this week.

  • Venice, Tuesday 12/19 🐶 Wanna rescue a puppy? Bubbles Dog Rescue will be at Belles Beach House on Tuesday.

  • Koreatown, Tuesday 12/19 🍕 If you’ve wanted to try the popular Mievè pizza but could never secure their pre-order, then you’re in luck! They’ll be popping up at Lock & Key on Tuesday.

  • Mid City, Wednesday 12/20 🤝 There’s this special holiday benefit with secret musical guests happening on Wednesday called LA Gives Back. 100% of profits going to Downtown Women's Center, My Friend's Place, and MásForMore.

  • Echo Park, Wednesday 12/20 🎄 It’s Sad Girl Christmas at Lowboy on Wednesday! Wear an ugly sweater and get a drink voucher.

  • Culver City, Wednesday 12/20 🤣 Craving comedy this week? Head to this show.

  • Highland Park, Thursday 12/21 🎷 Wanna listen to winter jazz? Go to the Lodge Room on Thursday.

  • Echo Park, Thursday 12/21 🦪 It’s a Christmas oyster shucking class at The Lonely Oyster! You’ll go home with a custom oyster ornament as well.

  • DTLA, Thursday 12/21 🕯️ This is so precious: a candle-lit night of life figure drawing at Fig & Oak. Oh, and there will be champagne and caviar.

  • Highland Park, Thursday 12/21 🎨 Tap into your creativity at The Creative Cafe on Thursday. Just like dining out, you select from a menu, but instead of ordering food, you’ll choose from a selection of creative activities. Also, they’ll have an in-house Mini Holiday Market there, too!

  • DTLA, Friday 12/22 🎄 Still need a garland? Make one at ROW DTLA.

  • Silver Lake, Friday 12/22 🎁 Shop for the rest of the gifts on your list at this market.

  • DTLA, Friday 12/22 & Saturday 12/23 🎠 You’re gonna wanna go to this: the world’s first art amusement park — lost since 1987. At Luna Luna, you’ll see a collection of rides and relics crafted by the world’s foremost contemporary artists, including Jean-Michel Basquiat, Keith Haring, David Hockney, and many more.

  • Altadena, Saturday 12/23 🍔 Yellow Paper Burger is popping up at Side Pie. YUM.

  • Alfred Coffee, Sawtelle 🍵 We got a new Alfred location in Sawtelle!! To celebrate, the first 100 people to use code CAMBER get $3 off at Alfred Sawtelle when ordering on their app. Enjoy!

  • Dada, Echo Park 🛍️ I’ve been seeing this cute boutique grocery store everywhere because it’s right next door to the newly opened Little Fish.

  • Budonoki, Virgil Village 🍣 Finally tried beloved neighborhood izakaya, Budonoki in Virgil Village. Must orders include the aburi salmon oshizushi, negima, charred sweet potato, and “budo-gnocchi.” Oh, and whoever is running the playlist over there deserves a raise.

  • Solarc Brewing, Glassell Park 🍻 Beer & tea in a space with wacky fermented art. I gotta check it out!

  • Shirube, Santa Monica 🍣 Infatuation LA named this one of the best new restaurants in 2023, so consider it added to my list.

  • Deus Ex Machina, Silver Lake 🏍️ Deus Ex Machina soft launched their new store in Silver Lake. If it’s anything like their Venice store, you’re in for a treat.

See ya around,
