Mads here! How was your heat wave of a weekend? Mine was schvitzy, but stellar. Highlights included:

• 🧘 Talk about schvitzy: if you were around for last week’s newsletter, I mentioned that I was gonna try out the buzzy new workout studio that all the cool girls seem to be going to, Silver Springs. Not only does this space feel like a museum with the cool artwork, but the class was hot and hard AF. I’m quite obsessed. I will be back.

• 🎂 On Saturday night, we went “cake-barring” with Prime Video! In celebration of their new movie, Sitting in Bars with Cake (which if you haven’t watched yet, bring tissues), we brought cake to some of our favorite bars: Mama Shelter, Grandmaster Recorders, and Tramp Stamp Granny’s. Thanks to everyone who came out to eat cake with us!

• 📖 I paid a visit to my favorite bookstore: The Ripped Bodice in Culver City. If you’re into romance novels and smut, you can easily spend a couple hours here browsing. It’s better than therapy to me.

• East Hollywood, Thursday 9/14 🌑 HOWL (Haus of Witchy Love) is partnering with Honey’s at Star Love, one of the only lesbian bars in Los Angeles, for a New Moon Party on Thursday. You can expect tattoos and tarot!

• Venice, Thursday 9/14 📷 Venice Photo Club is having a gallery night at Guayakí Yerba Mate Venice HQ on Thursday. Art! Vinyl DJs! Food by LA Burg!

• Mar Vista, Friday 9/15 🤣 Comedy Jamwich is back on Friday! It’s this backyard comedy and music show for people who want to laugh, dance, and meet others.

• Pasadena, Saturday 9/16 🥬 Erewhon Pasadena is opening this week! To celebrate, they’re throwing a free wellness community event on Saturday from 12-4. Expect a DJ, bites, drinks, and giveaways!

• Venice, Saturday 9/16 🧺 The New Bar is throwing an end of summer picnic party. Cute!

• Santa Monica, Saturday 9/16 🍵 This is wholesome: Some September is having a morning market on Saturday. Come by for matcha and Challahdad’s new Hot Jamn!

• Silver Lake, Saturday 9/16 🍷 Friend of Camber, Good Boy Wine, is doing a bar within a bar concept on Saturday at The Silverlake Lounge. Come for the wine, stay for the dancing.

• DTLA, Sunday 9/17 😮‍💨 Nothing like breathwork and a soundbath to close out the week. AIRE Wellness is putting on just that on Sunday.

• Santa Monica, Sunday 9/17 🏓 For all my pickleball girlies: Sunday Pickle is back this Sunday. They’re also going to have a giveaway raffle from Recess Pickleball!

• Hollywood, Sunday 9/17 🏊 Friend of Camber, Caroline from Love & Loathing LA, is throwing a pool party at Palihotel Hollywood on Sunday to celebrate 1 year of her wine brand, Best Coast Beverages. RSVP here!

• Ojai, Sunday 9/17 🎾 Tennis lovers!! Racquet Club LA is doing a field trip to Ojai on Sunday in partnership with Forty Love. You’ll get pizza and beers in town before heading back to LA.

• DTLA, Sunday 9/17 🐔 This sounds equal parts crazy and fun: The Next Fun Thing is putting on the largest game of hide-and-seek on Sunday, but with chickens. Ya, you read that right.

• Ten by Bar Nine, Marina Del Rey ☕ I mentioned Bar Nine in a previous newsletter, but I just discovered that they opened a sister coffee shop in MDR. Looks good for working!

• Anima Mundi, Venice Beach 🍵 I feel like some of the girlies are gonna hate me for not gatekeeping this, but Anima Mundi is this new Venice healthy cafe with a giant, cozy patio. You guys know I love a good patio…

• LINDEN, Hollywood 🍽️ This restaurant is still in their “soft-launch” period. Their IG bio says it’s a “melting pot of flavors, blending together the cuisines of New York, the Caribbean, and Jewish traditions.” Sign me up.

• Flor Y Solera, DTLA 🍅 Spanish tapas bar in the Arts District! I’ve been craving croquetas and pan con tomate.

• Dear Jane’s, Marina Del Rey 🐟 This is the seafood sister to Dear John’s situated right on the marina. I would head to their romantic bar off to the side for happy hour. Get the fish & chips and a cocktail.

• Baltaire, Brentwood 🍔 I was delighted by the Baltaire experience when I visited this past weekend. The space reminded me of the bar scene in It’s Complicated: mature and luxurious. If you want to watch sports in style, their bar area has a TV and plush couches. That’s what I would do…
