• 🕎 Junior High is hosting a Make Your Own Menorah party on Tuesday 12/20. Lights, latkes, and new friends!

• 🍷 Yuletide Cinemaland is putting on screenings of The Grinch, Home Alone, Love Actually, and more this week. You'll enter through a twinkling light tunnel and cozy up with mulled wine.

• 📽️ Speaking of outdoor movie screenings, Rooftop Cinema is also showing Elf and The Holiday this week in the Arts District.

• 🎁 The Christmas market at Eataly is giving me all the feels. Great gift ideas for the chefs in your life.

• 🪴 Wait, this is so cute. South Coast Botanic Garden is putting on a holiday market and display through 12/24.

• 💅 Harry Styles' Pleasing opened a holiday shop on Abbot Kinney. Stock up on nail polish before 12/23.

• 🎄 Looking for crazy Christmas light displays? Holiday Road is your answer.

• 🍰 Quarter Sheets is having a Cake Zine pop-up on Tuesday 12/20. It'll be an evening of pizza, zines, wine, and wicked cakes. Snag tickets here.

• ⛷️ On Friday 12/23, my favorite bar Thunderbolt is putting on an après ski themed immersive cocktail tasting at the new speakeasy at Hotel Figueroa. No jackets required.

Broad Street Coffee Company

Malibu

So you know about Broad Street Oyster Co, but do you know about Broad Street COFFEE Co?!

Right around the corner from their famous oyster joint at the Malibu Country Mart, they've opened a coffee and ice cream shop. It has that similar nostalgic feel of a 90's surfy destination, and the coffee is strong 🏄‍♀️

Check it out the next time you drive up the coast.

Heyday

Multiple Locations

I've been getting facials at Heyday since they opened in 2018.

I went back for a little skin refresh and felt right at home. Their boutiques are always such a delight to visit and the estheticians are incredibly attentive: doing a deep dive on your skin, treating it accordingly, and educating you every step of the way. You can treat yourself to their various add-ons like light therapy or microcurrent, which I did and was gah-lowing 🧖‍♀️

Oh, and they're giving you all a discount! If you book a facial online for any Los Angeles location, put "Camber31" in the notes. The discount will be applied when you pay after your service.

Daydream Surf Shop

Newport Beach

Alright I cheated and am sneaking in a Newport Beach recommendation here. 

Daydream Surf Shop is a dream come true (pun most definitely intended). Their new, larger space is filled with the coziest ceramics, home goods, and a wall lined with surfboards. This place is a neighborhood watering hole. It seems like everyone knows each other and hangs out together all day ☕
